Insta Review: Breadcrumbs, by Anne Ursu fitzbetweentheshelvesBook Review, Reading, UncategorizedBook ReviewLeave a comment Insta Review gives you a new book recommendation in under a minute. Go ahead, time it! View this post on Instagram Breadcrumbs is the book I would end up with if I attempted to write a novel – and that's not a good thing. Meandering and about double the necessary length, the author includes beautiful turn of phrase simply because it is beautiful and not because it actually helps to move the story forward. All of these lovely unnecessary words might be at home in an adult novel, but in my YA reading, I look for concise writing that doesn't stumble over its own grandeur. The random, anime-esque illustrations sprinkled throughout didn't add to my experience. If you're craving a fractured fairytale, follow the crumbs somewhere else. #bookreview #ireadya #librarian #fairytale #childrensliterature A post shared by Ms. Fitz (she/her) (@fitzbetweentheshelves) on Oct 1, 2016 at 8:34am PDT Share this: Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Like Loading...
