Insta Review: Hour of the Bees, by Lindsay Eagar fitzbetweentheshelvesBook Review, Reading, UncategorizedBook ReviewLeave a comment Insta Review gives you a new book recommendation in under a minute. Go ahead, time it! View this post on Instagram I’m not exactly sure what happened when I was reading The Hour of the Bees. One moment I remember thinking, “Man, this book is off to slow start. I wonder if I’ll make it through…” and the next, it was the middle of the night and I was somehow still reading. I knew I was going to regret it the next day, but I couldn’t stop. The magic and momentum build slowly in the beginning of the book, as Carol and her family move to her grandfather’s ranch for the summer to help get it ready to sell. But once Carol starts connecting with her grandfather, who is struggling with dementia, and the mystical 🐝🐝 start appearing, it's impossible not to get sucked in to this story of folklore, family, love, and wanderlust. Author Lindsay Eager casts a spell that can’t be broken until you finish the final page.
