Insta Review: Under the Egg, by Lara Marx Fitzgerald fitzbetweentheshelvesBook Review, Reading, UncategorizedBook ReviewLeave a comment Insta Review gives you a new book recommendation in under a minute. Go ahead, time it! View this post on Instagram I love a good mystery, but Under the Egg was a little too mysterious. As in…the unsolved case of who are these characters, and why don't they have more development?? When Theo's beloved grandfather takes his final breath, he tells her to look "under the egg". Thus starts a wild chase that involves a hidden masterpiece, WWII espionage, and a LOT of art history. The problem? By the end of the book I knew all about Rafael and his work – but almost nothing about Theo, her loved ones, or why any of this was happening. A for effort in terms of giving young readers a glimpse of art history, but not the exciting mystery I was hoping for. #bookreview #ireadya #childrensliterature #art #book #librarian #mystery A post shared by Ms. Fitz (she/her) (@fitzbetweentheshelves) on Sep 29, 2016 at 9:34am PDT Share this: Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Like Loading...
