All month, kindergarteners and first graders have been working with our 2019 Tech-Mas theme of light by exploring circuits. They’ve learned the three things that you need to complete a circuit, and I still get a little rush of glee hearing them talk about input and output! Now that students can comprehend, build, and explain a circuit independently, we put their skills to the test with LittleBits INVENTION KITS!
An Invention Kit is just a box full of random stuff from my office (binder clips, paper towel rolls, tinfoil, rubber bands, etc.), combined with some LittleBits pieces. When I hand them out I say, “I would love to give you directions about these, but I have no idea what they are for or what they can do. Good luck! Teach me once you figure it out!” The results? Hours of wacky, surprising, ingenious, frustrating, collaborative, growth mindset fun!
