Student Book Review: Jalen’s Review of A Picture Book of Benjamin Franklin, by David A. Adler

A Picture Book of Benjamin Franklin

by David A. Adler

Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 17, 1706. When he was 8 he cut school so he had to work with his dad at a candle and soap factory. As he got older he became known for being an inventor, writer, newspaper publisher, and American hero. He also set up Philadelphia’s first fire and police departments, and helped start the first lending library and hospital in America.

My favorite part of the book is when he discovered that lightning is electricity. He helped write the Declaration of Independence and the Peace Treaty with England. He died on April 17, 1790 at the age of 84.

This book review was written by Johnson Elementary School student Jalen. Jalen is in the third grade.
