The Big Wave

The Big Wave is written by Pearl S. Buck. It is realistic fiction and is about two boys, Kino and Jiya. They live on a coast of Japan. A big wave comes and kills Jiya’s family. Jiya is asked if he would like to live with Old Gentleman. He has to choose whether he wants to live ont he Kine’s farm or with old Gentleman. He chooses Kino’s farm and grows up and marries Setsu Kino’s little sister and lives on the beach.

This book was written by Evelyn, a Johnson Elementary School student. Evelyn is in the fourth grade.
