It’s the first day of winter, but that won’t stop the Books on Bikes team! For the fourth winter in a row, we’re preparing for our winter event, Bundle Up with Books – and you’re invited!
Like our summer programs, Bundle Up with Books brings quality literature to young Charlottesville readers when their school libraries are closed; but it’s also so much more. The Books on Bikes family also provides hats, gloves, and scarves to each reader, ensuring that they will be warm and comfortable throughout the winter. Once students have chosen their new winter gear and their favorite books, they can snuggle in with a cup of hot chocolate and a candy cane to enjoy some holiday stories and some special time with the teachers and community members that love them. Starting this afternoon and continuing tomorrow evening, Bundle Up with Books is the perfect way to spread holiday cheer and give back to the Charlottesville community – all while enjoying a hot cup of cocoa!

Then, check out this great interview with Stacy Diaz, Spanish teacher and Books on Bikes team member, about all of the joy and wonder she brings to Books on Bikes with her therapy dogs. Chuleta, Luna, Pina, and Beau are amazing dogs – and their help is one of the things that makes Books on Bikes so special!
Time to start gathering the marshmallows, candy canes, and holiday stories! I hope to see some of you there.
