Fitz’s Faves: Bella’s review of Out of My Mind, by Sharon Draper

I gave this book five stars because it is a wonderful book about a girl named Melody. Melody struggles with illness that makes her unable to walk or talk. It’s like she’s in a world where nobody can understand her, she’s trapped in her own mind with no way out. She is so smart, but unable to show it. So she just puts on a blank stare and pretends to be someone she’s not. Read this bittersweet book and realize that when you think some days are hard, there’s always someone else in the world that has it harder than you do. Sharon Draper is a wonderful author, and I can’t wait to read her other books.

This book review was written by Bella, a St. Anne’s-Belfield School student. Bella is in the fourth grade.
