Insta Review: Ozma of Oz, by Eric Shanower fitzbetweentheshelvesBook Review, Reading, UncategorizedBook Review, ReadingLeave a comment Insta Review gives you a new book recommendation in under a minute. Go ahead, time it! View this post on Instagram With its mix of text and detailed illustrations, this book is great for students just learning to read graphic novels because it forces them to slow down and read carefully. Just like reading traditional novels, reading a graphic novel correctly to understand the message and meaning takes practice – and Ozma of Oz is the perfect book for that. The text is small and features some whimsical (and long-winded) vocabulary, but it should be easy enough to follow for any readers advanced enough to handle small text. The plot moves smoothly, the dialogue is quick and funny, and author Eric Shanower creates distinctive and entertaining characters (Billina the chicken made me laugh out loud almost every time she squwaked). The tie-in to the Wizard of Oz is sure to pique interest to this fun graphic novel for younger and middle grade readers. #wizardofoz #graphicnovel A post shared by Ms. Fitz (she/her) (@fitzbetweentheshelves) on Sep 30, 2017 at 3:09pm PDT Share this: Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Like Loading...
