This afternoon, a special friend stopped by to kick off Johnson’s Read Across America celebration. The Cat in the Hat, one of Dr. Seuss’ most beloved classic characters, came to the Johnson Library to help get students excited about the upcoming celebrations for Seuss’ birthday, and for our 5,000 Book Challenge.
Cat and I stopped by each classroom to say hello, drop off some stickers, and even show a few lucky students a preview of our dance moves. Why the dance moves? Because the prize at stake for our 5,000 Book Challenge is a DANCE PARTY!
There were a number of great pictures from the Cat’s visit, but this shot of a pre-school student meeting the Cat for the first time was my favorite. Keep your eyes open for more Read Across America photos and updates throughout the next week!
